Warranty? They do not stand behind it.
My hammer drill stoped working after about the 6th or 7th time using it. I don't have much use for using a hammer drill but when I do it's nice to have.
I contacted DeWalt customer service which was very friendly and helpful. They sent me a return label via email. I printed this out and shipped it from my office. I see a lot of shipments every day.
A few days later I received a call from the warranty center. The young lady on the phone told me that they received the package. She then went on to tell me that it was going to cost $75 for them to repair the hammer drill. I said this drill has a 3 year limited warranty. I've only used this drill 6 or 7 times since buying it. I asked her how could it not be a factory defect? I proceeded to ask her what was wrong with the drill? She informed me that she did not have that information. I told her to send the drill back to me.
Upon receiving the drill back I checked the tamper stickers on the drill. They were all still in place the drill had not even been taken apart to inspect.
How could the warranty center tell me that this was not a factory defect if they didn't even inspect the drill?
The picture above has the tamper-resistant sticker that's under the battery the mark in the corner is the one I put on it to see if they opened the drill.
I will not be purchasing any more of this brand or any of the other brands they have. I pay the premium for the name because I thought they stood behind their products. I have bought a lot of this Brands products. For my personal use. I've bought two to three hundred times this amount for the corporation I work for.
I will not be purchasing any more for myself or for my Corporation if this is how warranty services are provided.
