I research everything before I make a purchase, especially something as important as a baby monitor. All the reviews looked solid. Unfortunately our experience was very different. We had the baby monitor 6 months and the power cord began to come apart. This was not under warranty so we had to purchase a new one. One month later (the baby monitor was 7 months old!) the baby monitor stopped charging when plugged in - we called Motorola and without the original sales receipt they would not replace the monitor. We replaced it with the Summer Infant, Summer Baby Touch Color Video Monitor and couldn't be happier. It is so much better than the Motorola monitor - why? 1. The picture is clearer 2. You can actually move the camera left/right and up/down (which helps if your baby is in the corner of the crib and you want to zoom in to see if the blanket is too close to his/her face) 3. It has a light on the camera that acts as a nightlight which you can control with the receiver Hope this helps someone!
