In every way, a downgrade from the original FireTV . This is the first time I've ever purchased anything preorder to receive on day one . This is the last time I'll ever purchase anything preorder to receive on day one . I've been a loyal Amazon customer for years , and I feel like I've been lied to . I own the first generation FireTV , and it's great . If you own a first-generation FireTV , and you like it , do not upgrade . I repeat, do not purchase this second-generation Amazon FireTV . Just so we're clear , do not purchase this item . The audio is at least 50% worse (much quieter) , the visual quality is a downgrade (buffering, freezing) , the remote freezes and stops working , the home screen freezes , Alexa does not work as advertised (freezes, cannot understand things, cannot provide information, causes remote to be non-responsive, etc.) and even the Amazon fire TV app you can download for a tablet or phone is not recognizable by this new second-generation Fire TV. This is truly the worst piece of equipment Amazon has duped me into purchasing . I will be reporting and relaying my experiences elsewhere . Returning for refund.
