BE CAREFUL... KNOW YOUR Honda & Husqvarna WARRANTY
Initially this lawn mower worked GREAT right out of the box. I was very happy with it. After about 4 weeks it started acting strange, with the engine randomly dying and then having trouble starting. I contacted Husqvarna and was told to take it to a repair center. Now is where I began my education on the world of lawn mower warranties.
The Husqvarna repair center determined that the problem was with the engine, and that they wouldn't touch it because Husqvarna won't warranty work done on the engine because it's made by Honda. Whaaaaat? This is the reason why your lawn mower comes with two warranty packages, one from Husqvarna and one from Honda. The problem begins here... the Husqvarna repair center says Honda is responsible because it's an engine problem. Honda says it's not the engine, it's the transmission. Aaaand now the infinite loop begins. Neither company wants to be responsible for paying for the repair. I purchased the mower on June 1st, the problems began around July 5th. It is now August 14th and the mower hasn't operated properly for almost 6 weeks.. and I can't get it taken care of. I even asked Husqvarna to simply swap the mower for another one and they flatly refused, stating that they "don't do that". Then I asked if they would authorize me taking it to a dealer and having THEM swap it, again I was told "no". The kicker is that if I had just purchased an actual HONDA mower, I wouldn't have to deal with this garbage of two different warranties and two different companies.
I am extremely disappointed in Husqvarna's warranty and customer service, which makes me sad because I can never again recommend their products for the simple fact that they do not stand by their warranties. I wanted everyone to know what they're getting into before they buy a Husqvarna product that uses another company's parts.
