I was very curious to try this supplement after recommendations from credible sources. It is said that black current oil helps with brain circulation, is anti-inflammatory, is a gaba agonist (increases it) via it's thymoquinone content, & in turn helps with hair growth in lieu of these great brain benefits. This can be researched via many credible medical resources. It was advised to select one that was an extra virgin oil, and that is what I did & that's how I landed on this particular brand. When I got these from this brand (I selected them due to stellar reviews), I took them for a few nights..They had a slight smell of what I could only describe as being plastic. When I took them, I had an aftertaste that was very similar and my stomach didn't feel well. I ceased immediately. I'm a veteran of supplements (take many kinds) and I can tell when something seems weird. I ordered the same product via a trusted brand, as to compare. I wasn't sure if it was the "oil" or the coating of the pill that caused the smell/taste. Well it's definitely the coating of the pill. When I took the supplements via the brand I was used to, there was no weird smell or plastic type of after taste. I don't know what the coating is for this, but if it smells toxic, I'm not taking it. The coating is also rather hard and thick with this brand & again, it's not with the other brand. I'm disappointed in that I got a product I can't use, but I felt it was important to be vocal about my experience, because some reviews are due to receiving free products. This is a very honest review based off of my experience. I will not purchase supplements from this brand any more. I can't speak to the effects of the oil itself just yet, because I will have to wait & see if I reap the benefits of black current oil via the other bottle I bought.
