It's like four bucks more expensive than the Taylor and well ...
I relied on the Taylor name in buying this, having used Taylor kitchen thermometers. For the price, it's really cheaply made, and the whole thing is held together by rubber cement. As noted by many, it can't be adjusted unless you use a razor knife to cut some of the rubber cement so you can rotate the entire dial. The unit I got was off by 5 degrees, so I contacted Taylor to see if there was any other way to adjust it. To Taylor's credit, they offered to send a replacement. Problem was, the replacement was a slightly different model (TAYLOR 91575), and it was even more inaccurate, being off by 11 degrees. Thankfully Amazon allowed me to return the unit for a refund. I subsequently bought the
12" Steel Enclosure Decorative Indoor / Outdoor Patio Wall Thermometer by Bjerg Instruments. The dial isn't as large, but it's extremely well built, is accurate and can be adjusted if needed. It's like four bucks more expensive than the Taylor and well worth it.
