I bought two stools over two years for my husband as gifts. The first one continues to operate as expected. The second stool had a manufacturing defect that caused the seat to sheer off its mooring. Northern Tool refused to address the issue because it exceeded their 1-year warranty. The stool was barely used and broke when my husband lifted it to move it . . . not even when he sat on it. He's only 180 soaking wet. All we wanted was a replacement seat, but customer service refused. And, this was after I told them it had been purchased over a year ago. Had they told me they wouldn't even consider it, I wouldn't have gone to all the trouble of downloading the receipt and taking pictures. Be cautious! We thought NT was a reputable company that stood behind its products.
