I wanted to love this hammock. I hang a hammock in the front yard mostly for looks, but also for occasional use. In the past we've had cotton hammocks but the sun and sprinklers deteriorate the material after a few years. This hammock is made out of a plastic material that feels like lawn chair fabric. It's hard and slippery and doesn't give at all when you lay on it. Even with the spreader bars, you'll slip right off if you don't stay centered. But it drains well and seems impervious to sprinklers as sun. About the only use it gets is by two little boys who weigh about 80lbs together. If cotton hammocks lasted 2-3 years I figured this one would last forever, so I kept it even though it was horribly uncomfortable. Then today, less than six month after buying it, I find a tear along one hemmed edge where the mat attaches to the strings. Just very disappointed with it in every way :-(
