I purchased this air compressor March 19, 2016 for topping up the tires on my vehicles and rv. On July 30 it would not turn on at all. I contacted the manufacturer by e-mail and received back a return authorization number and instructions on shipping the item to them. The least expensive shipping is $24. They included the following in their e-mail: "Freight charges for products shipped to VIAIR for warranty concern are the responsibility of the person seeking warranty consideration. If the unit is covered under this Manufacturer Defect Warranty, no further action is required by the person seeking warranty inspection and/or repair. ...If after inspection..., product is found to contain no manufacturing or material defects..., the retail customer will be contacted by VIAIR and given the option to have the product returned as-is, or be repaired and returned at the customers’ expense." For an item priced under $70, I feel this warranty is useless, as I am expected to pay for all shipping, amounting to $50 or more. I am very disappointed with this product lasting less than 4 months and disgusted that Viair offers a warranty that amounts to nothing.
