Disappointing
I was very disappointed with this item. Early images of the TARDIS Journal really made it look like a true replica of the one River Song uses in the "Doctor Who" television series. Even the newer image that Amazon is using -- the open book -- gives you the initial impression that this is a three-dimensional replica of the book from the show, with a textured cover of individual squares set into it. It is not. Not even close. The cover is perfectly smooth and flat, with only an image of the original TARDIS cover printed onto it. In person, this printed image is actually very cartoony-looking -- more drawn or painted on than photographed from the original prop. It needs to be wayyyy across the room from you to fool your eye for just a moment into thinking that you're looking at the real thing. For ten bucks it's an OK journal, I guess, although the binding does not seem to be very sturdy. It has a flimsy feel to it that leads me to believe that it will crack long before I get to finish using it as any kind of a journal. So if you were hoping for something to display on a shelf next to a sonic screwdriver, this is not the item for you. To the best of my knowledge, nobody has yet offered a decent replica of the "real" TARDIS journal at anything resembling a reasonable price. This book? Not a replica at all.
