Seller Doesn't Understand Their Product
The seller of this product appears to not understand what they are selling.
Per the description the tablet has 4GB of "RAM" and 64GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, when installing apps, the device only writes to the 4GB of "RAM". And that "RAM" appears to only be a partition of the 64GB internal memory as opposed to dedicated RAM.
When I contacted the seller in regard to this issue the seller explained that the device only installs apps to the "RAM" and that the 64GB memory is only for data storage. I explained that this is not how RAM is supposed to work. The seller has only reiterated that apps install to the "RAM" and insisted that this is standard. The seller then offered to refund me $30 of the $130 that I paid.
The sad part is that, other than the lack of space for apps (~2GB), the device seems to work just fine. I'm going to check to see if the whole 64GB memory is actually accessible and, if so, root the device to get it working properly. I'll update my review if I'm able to do so and, maybe, increase the rating from one star to two or three assuming no further problems arise.
Ultimately, if you just want a cheap device to root with decent specs for the cost, this might be worth the buy. But that remains to be seen.
Update: As of yet I have been unable to root this device. I have tried a couple of methods and a few different rooting programs.
Looking at the memory it does, indeed, appear to be a 64GB block that has been partitioned. The 60GB partition is mounted as "sd 0". This is where I was able to find a work around.
This version of Android allows some, not all, apps to be moved to an sd card. If you look for this option, without an sd card in (I don't have one so I can't say what happens if you do have an sd), it will give the option to move the apps to the 60GB partition. Only a few of my apps won't move and I've not been able to determine any particular pattern to explain why some won't.
So it is usable but requires jumping through hoops and isn't, currently, easily rooted. I think I'll add +1 star to my original rating.
