I've had this for one year and one month now, using it daily to make ice that's perfect for iced coffee. I paid $240, felt it was worth it, and I loved it for that entire year. But last week it started making a grumbling noise, so I called their customer service. The agent was friendly and offered to repair it, but it would cost $160 in shipping. Instead, I took the machine apart in hopes that a deep clean would resolve the issue. When I opened it up, and snipped the cable ties holding the tubes on, it was disgusting inside. The hoses are filled with slime. I cleaned the unit regularly (both with vinegar and diluted dish soap as recommended in the guide). We never use our hands to scoop the ice, only a clean scooper. We use filtered water. But the "filters" on the machine are simply small plastic strainers and only filter things larger than a grain of rice. So I shouldn't have been surprised when I found this gross slime inside.
