I have used gazelles for about 15 years and have loved them for aerobic workouts. I wanted more resistance ( in the past I have taped weights to the arm swings) This time around I went for the supreme in order to get added resistance. BUT BEWARE. The resistance pistons do not allow for resistance adjustment. The company representative told me "you use them or you do not". The resistance in the pistons that come with the machine is extreme. I am in good shape and my husband has strong runners legs - even he had trouble moving the footpads. I have to completely disconnect the pistons in order to use the machine. So I should have bought the freestyle and saved myself $100. I consider this false advertising. I visited several sites to research which gazelle to purchase (including the official gazelle site)- none of them mentioned the resistance level could not be adjusted. Nor was it mentioned that you can order different resistance level pistons for an additional $99.
