Too many bells and whistles
All I wanted to do was replace my Classic iPod. I figured I could just ignore all the other junk apple has added to the iPod. I had the Classic iPod plugged into my car's audio. When I started the car the music would play. When I stopped the car the iPod would go into sleep mode. Alas, for all the useless apps apple has added to the iPod Touch you cannot configure it to do this simple function. You have to dig out the connected iPod and enter a pincode (I am assuming to password protect all the useless apps you don't want anyway). If you try to bypass using a pincode the iPod Touch will not shut off and you will have a dead iPod when you next start the car. Bottom line, this is no longer a music player it is now basically an iPhone that won't make calls. If you want a music player look for a discontinued Classic. If you want more buy an iPhone. What a disappointment, I loved my old Classic MUSIC player. Apple if you are listening, start making those again. I already have a smart phone that makes and receives calls......
