I liked the convenience of the auto drainage system. However after about 6 months use (we used it 7-8 times only) the fry basket started getting corrosion. The sizes of the corroded spots are small. But it is not about size. As the fry basket contacts food and stays in the hot cooking oil, any corrosion is not acceptable. This is definitely defects in material, manufacturing, and/or workmanship. I contacted T-fal asking for a replacement of a fry basket and this is what I was answered. This is not a normal wear. T-fal's customer care is horrible. Note that different from other components like body, lid of the fryer, the fry basket is made of chrome plated steel. And the plating quality could be poor enough to get corrosion in less then 10 times of cooking. Is it just me having this bad luck?
