Not the same as buying retail version
I guess as part of the replacement program, the serial number on this device matches that of a 1st gen Nano. I had problems syncing the device to a PC even after following the included instructions. Because of the serial number issue, Apple would not offer any complementary support as they would with any other new Apple product. Probably would be ok if you didn't care about support and were only syncing with other Apple products.
