I have had this less than 2 years and I have used it maybe 15 times when the crockpot shorted out. It began to catch fire with a strong scent of burning plastic and thick white smoke emitting from behind the partially melted control panel. Thankfully I was home when this happened and caught it or I probably wouldn't have a home anymore. It is a shame that this now a wasted piece of garbage instead of lasting the 15 or so years my old crockpot did.
