I'm not sure if these are being sold by a different maker or what, but I've purchased these in the past and the most recent cube was not the one I've gotten before. The old one had some weight to it, was smooth, and clacked harder when played with. It had some metal visible on the joints. This one feels like much cheaper plastic, and the joints look to be plastic. I looked at my old order, and while the "Sold by" name is the same on the order, the "By" name on the item page beneath the title now reads "SMALL FISH" where it used to read aSmallfish. Not sure if that's relevant, but could be a different maker? I'm pretty disappointed, as I swear by these cubes for some quality fidgeting. I've given away mine in the past which is why I sought a new one. I hope the old construction is still available.
