Usually, I reserve reviews until I have had a thorough experience with a product. Sadly, I've had no luck even trying to use HDD to its full potential! This is the second/replacement HDD I received from Amazon after the first one failed right out of the box. So I was initially happy when it was very happy to see it was finally recognized when plugged in, then initialized it under Disk Management in Win 10 (it did not automatically appear in my computer). But during a crucial files transfer of 1 TB, connection failed and I was never able to recover or view the copied files again. The HDD was not recognized on multiple PC's and so I went into Disk Management and discovered it was categorized as "unknown." So I initialized it and was given two options: MBR or GPT. I chose each option once, but each time, I received the following error message: "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. I tried to use multiple ports (USB 2, USB 3.0 and USB 3.1). In addition, I used a different USB connection cable that came with another WD HDD and it also produced the same result.
