What passes as a romance novel
This seemed to have great potential for a different historical romance novel. Unfortunately, the character development is thin and it is so poorly researched that I wanted to scream. ( If your main male protagonist is supposed to be a coachman or horse trainer and breeder, couldn’t the author do the minimal research required to know he would not use the word “straps” for reins, the girth and the parts of the harness. Just one example.) Attempts at dialogue or different speech patterns are clumsy, and the plot takes a sheltered girl of 16 to thirty year old maturity in less than a year. I hope the author’s next effort will be better but glad I didn’t spend money on it.
