We bought this for our little guy who loves to bark at nothing. It works great up to 6 months then won't hold a charge for more than an hour allowing him to keep us awake all night. We also have a SportDog shock collar which has lost its ability to hold a charge & range so I replaced it with and recommend Tri-Tronics. Chet *****EDIT 8-25-2010 After being unable to find a replacement battery for this unit I called the company. They said they would send me a new one at no charge. I then read on their website that the battery has a life of 6-9months? So why can't I find a replacement to order? Anyway I'm happy as the product does work great but why only a 6-9 month battery life? Chet
