Cardboard? Really, Melissa & Doug?!
Over the years, I've come to expect better quality products from this company. They usually utilize long lasting materials like wood and plastic, and provide a toy that stands up to the rigors of play that you would expect from a toddler. My 4 year old got this for her birthday, to compliment her new KidCraft Uptown Espresso Kitchen. Unfortunately the "cans" are made of cardboard and the lids/bottoms are plastic. Within days, most of these cans were so badly damaged they had to be thrown away. One met it's demise when my little girl decided to sneak some cheese balls away and hide them inside the can. The oil from the junk food permeated the cheap cardboard and turned it into a greasy piece of mush. Another just plain got crushed she stepped on it. Yet another bit the dust after her 1 year old sister bit into it, soaking it in the kind of drool only a teething 1-year old can produce. Needless to say, I would not recommend this product. Look elsewhere for play cans made of plastic. It's worth the trouble.
