I read lots of reviews before buying this product. I missed a key detail: people reviewed this too early. I too was really excited about this product at first. It was a real hit in my office. People stopped by and tried it out. Everyone thought it was so novel and quiet! I was easily hitting 20,000 steps a day without much effort. After ~3 weeks, the gears started to squeak. I thought it was because dirt got into it so I cleaned it with an air canister. Didn't work. I eventually bought bike lubricant but nothing helped. It was really annoying to my office mate. It became such a disturbance I eventually had to stop using it in the office. That's a complete failure of the use case I had for this product. Overall, my experience is that this is not intended for prolonged daily use. It is clear it wears out very quickly. Disappointing given the price point and the reviews from other customers. When it does work, I also caution that when you're using it, seat position is very important. You'll give yourself sciatica if you're not careful!
