I was really excited to buy us a set of really nice great quality luggage. You expect a lot from the Samsonite name and guarantee. But I think I was imagining that. Right away the outside was scratched up. See attached picture. Of course this does not matter since what you expect from luggage is that it will at the very least not break. In 40 years I've never had a suitcase break. We have only been using this luggage since December and on our last trip we found that the middle piece was broken during our trip. I don't know what Southwest did to the bag but that is the point of luggage, to protect your things as it gets tossed around in baggage on an airplane. When we picked the middle piece up from baggage claim we could not lift up the handle. It was stuck inside the suitcase. When we opened up the suitcase the handle casing and the handle was extremely bent. By pushing down on the bent piece I was able to pull the handle up and take the picture attached. I contacted Samsonite because I believed they would care about their reputation and brand and want to replace the luggage. I even offered to repair it myself if they could send me parts. They sent me an email saying I can buy some parts or find someone to repair my suitcase. Please tell me, people, if I have unrealistic expectations. As I said, I've never experienced this and I've traveled a lot and had a lot of suitcases with pull up handles. I think this suitcase is garbage and Samsonite should give me my money back or replace it. But since they didn't feel the same way at least I might be able to guide others away from buying their products.
