Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

This appears to be a decent heater, but it produces a horrible burnt plastic smell. I ran it out on my patio for a few days and the smell did not get any better. If this heater would ever air out it would take months and the smell is so intense that it runs everyone out of the house in a few minutes. I do not think that it was actually melting anything, I believe that whatever plastic they made the heater out of just smells that way when it gets hot, so it may not be a safety hazard, but the smell is completely unbearable. They may not all be this way as this heater gets good reviews, it probably varies on the batch of plastic that the heater is made out of, but I have come to expect better from the Amazon Basics brand. This experience will make me hesitant to buy from Amazon Basics in the future.
