I bought this tarp to cover part of my hoop house that I had been using with shade cloth (to grow potted plants under). I wanted to convert the hoop house from a shade house to a carport-like structure to park my lawn tractors, mowers, etc., under. I ordered a 20' by 30' tarp to do this. I had read mainly 4-5 star reviews, so I took a chance on this tarp. I noted on some reviews where the review advised not to install the tarp too tightly, as the tarp will shrink some. I took that advice and installed the tarp loose, with bellies in between the four feet on center hoop frames. Sure enough, after several days the tarp shrunk. But shrinkage is not the problem. While I didn't notice this when I installed the tarp, the other day I noticed some holes in it. In fact, I counted no less than 27 holes of various sizes, the smallest being about 1/16" to almost 3/8" in diameter! This is unacceptable quality control on the part of the manufacturer. Heck, I've bought cheap, much lighter mil tarps, and never had holes in them. I plan on taping over the holes and then smoothing clear silicon over the tape. I just hope I can get a couple of years out of the defective tarp before it degrades and starts coming apart -- as I've read in some of the one and two star reviews.
