Wants Your Money!
Played this game for about 3 months so I could form a rounded opinion. It has absolutely cute graphics and a well-executed story. Great characters; some so sweet they'll cause cavities. The HOS' range from easy to extremely hard depending on the level, room, and existing mode (night, anomaly, reverse, etc.). The reason I only gave it 2 stars is because after you get past the early levels, it quickly becomes a thinly veiled attempt to get you to spend your real money and lots of it. As your level gets higher, you get more energy points to use BUT, simultaneously, you must use much more energy to investigate a room. The result being that you can't investigate as many rooms as when you had less max energy. You will also notice quickly that the higher your level, the less often you find useful items after searching a room. And, the more diamonds you need to buy the items you need to either detain a criminal or complete a collection. As if that's not insulting enough, when you need to gather items for a collection or to be able to search a special place or event, you have to get an absurd number of them (like 40 of one thing). I've been playing Mystery Manor simultaneously and can definitively state that I'd rather spend my hard earned funds there than at Mirrors of Albion. At least with Mystery Manor you don't have to go broke if you don't want to have a gazillion friends or spend a ton of cash. I certainly hope Game Insight is paying attention and so are you. Am hoping that they will eventually stop ripping us off. In the meantime, I'm putting this game on hold.
