I purchased the Kindle Voyage with great hopes. I have an old Kindle (4th Kindle I think) but it has no light so I finally wanted to get the best kindle to use. I have one with long buttons on the side and I wanted one with the button option and the Voyage seemed like the perfect fit. I use the kindle to read books from the kindle amazon store and Arabic books that are scanned in pdf format (due to lack of e-book content for Arabic books). Well my experience is BAD! 1- I don’t like the slanted edges of the devise because it makes it harder for me to hold. 2- I also got a device that had small dents in the back right out of the box! The biggest problem is how it handled the pdf files. Missing dots, letters and even words!!!! See picture. The Arabic pdf books that appear perfect on all other devices (older kindle, iphone, computer, kindle app on iphone, etc.) are unreadable on the Voyage! Contacted customer service and after chatting for a long time and rebooting, reregistering, re-everything… the problem still existed!!!! Finally they tell me that it does not support Arabic. But the files are in pdf and I hoped it would deal with it as an image if it was not recognizable. I am not tech savvy and have no clue why this is happening. I might have gotten a fluke! Returning and buying a paperwhite to see if it works. I am sad because I totally wanted the Voyage to be my new best book.
