Save Your Money. Buy a Real Surround System
Like another reviewer for this product, I came from a full 5.1 surround system. I was running a Denon 2310CI with a Polk audio center channel and Energy satellite speakers and sub. I had issues with the sub not working and some balance issues. I wanted to replace my system with a sound bar and sub so I would have less clutter. Given sound bars have been around for a while I figured this would be a good option paired with the included sub. The setup was easy. I connected my Xbox One to HDMI IN and the ARC OUT to my TV. I was able to set the audio output on the Xbox to Bitstream with both the DTS and Dolby Digital output formats. This one doesn’t support Dolby Atmos, which I knew going into this, but neither did my old system. The sound however is a different story. It’s not consistent at all. Once minute dialog can sound warm, the next it sounds like it’s full of treble and tearing at higher volumes. You can adjust bass and treble from + to - 6. Doesn’t seem to actually have any effect on sound though. The subwoofer adjustment does work though. There aren’t many adjustments you can make. There are 4 sound modes. Standard, Surround, Adaptive, and Game. None of them are particularly pleasing to the ear. Full of treble that can’t be removed. Also hear crackles and pops in the audio. I can’t believe the 15 year old receiver sounds better than this sound bar. Disappointed to say the least.
