The other day I left the garage door opener inside and forgot that this device was against my front door. It was time to test it and see if it would actually stop me from getting in to my own house. So I unlocked my deadbolt and now this was the only thing stopping me from gaining access to my house. I could open the door slightly, I didn't want to damage my door or draw attention from the neighbors. So I began pressing my weight against the door. It held. Then I did about three hip checks and walla! I was in my house. I wasn't using about as much force as you'd use tying to get an over stuffed trunk closed. Upon inspection, little button that lets you choose the height doesn't pop out far enough to make the product useful. The slightest bit of pressure makes it so that piece bends in and then the whole thing collapses making it useless. If that piece came out another 1/4" it would probably work as it should. It's good for a piece of mind. Kinda.. but it's not going to stop an intruder. Looking at the piece of plastic on top I'm sure that would be the next piece to break once they fix the metal height selector. Do they not test these things?
