I understand why it shouldn't be used on carpet because of keeping the cooling vents clear. My apartment carpeting is commercial grade with literally no height, so I thought it might be okay. That is until I read the safety warning sticker on the machine, must be used on hard floors only, with 8 FEET clearance on all sides. Are you kidding? I live in a 645 sq ft. apartment. I don't have a 16 ft x 16 ft clear area. I think maybe this information should be in the description.
