The microwave oven works well - when it works. It stopped working 1-1/2 years after purchase. I took it to our local appliance repair store. they diagnosed a thermal fuse failure, which is typically about a $10 part. The diagnostic cost $44. It goes downhill from here. The Service Repaire Person called all over, could not find the part. Finally called Sharp and was told that Sharp does not make parts for this model, it is considered a "non-serviceable" and "replacement only" unit. In other words, it was made to sell for $200 but be a "disposable" microwave - pile it up in the landfills. Because it is past the one-year warrant, I will need to send in the silver tag and proof of purchase and they may offer at a lower cost a refurbished unit. I highly recommend not purchasing this model or anything from Sharp if it is their policy to produce appliances that are not meant to be repaired, but rather, thrown away. They simply want the public to continue to buy, buy, buy, and throw out perfectly repairable appliances. The Service person was amazed that Sharp does not make what amounts to a $10 fuse to repaire this unit. It is outrageous for an appliance to not last more than 18 months.
