This is a listening device that reports back to Reolink.
UPDATE: After many emails back and forth with Reolink support, they still lie to me about their data collection even though I showed them proof. They did link me an article on how to turn off the sending of data.....FOR A DIFFERENT CAMERA. lol VIDEO QUALITY: I also did some tests ad the camera quality isn't even good enough to read a license plate at 20 feet. Certainly not worth while at all. They told me that the camera could be used without cloud or an internet connection, but they failed to tell me that an internet connection is needed to add the device to their app. Without it it will cryptically fail. I gave the camera and app access long enough to get it installed and then blocked it again at my FW. Come to find out, that was a good idea as this is what the camera does every 20 seconds, all day and all night: 12:26:10.760844 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 128, id 6959, offset 0, flags [none], proto UDP (17), length 132) [[my camera's LAN ip]].54326 > ec2-54-210-7-156.compute-1.amazonaws.com.9999: [udp sum ok] UDP, length 104 Little bugger tries to send UDP packets there every 20 seconds or so. Further digging revealed it's actually "p2p.reolink.com" where it wants to send data. I reached out to their support team and was told "don't worry about it"... very creepy. When I pressed further, asking why it's trying to send my data to their server and how I could turn this "feature" off, they gave a curt response and simply locked me out of their support system.
