I had no idea it breaks if you try and it turn it off! Unless you're a content expert in this stuff and you know what you're doing you'll like it break it as soon as you open the box. I opened it and hit the TEST button by accident and when it started sounding off I immediately looked for an OFF button and found it on the back. Yyou have to push it hard to active but I did. Then I found out minutes later after reading the instructions manual that if you hit the office switch the unit is broke forever and you have to throw it away!!! WHAT KIND OF REDICULOUSNESS IS THAT?!?!?!? As a normal person I shouldn't have to go digging into the user manual to find some small section that tells me "oh by the way if you hit the wrong button this thing will self-destruct and become useless." So now I'm out $$$ but oh well. I know these big companies don't care so I didn't bother trying to get a replacement for it.
