I dont get it...
It's hard being a vegan, even harder being a vegan that's a true "foodie". Seeing how many great reviews this cookbook got I expected the recipes to really "wow" me, expected something new - instead I got many vegan basics...barley pilaf with mushrooms, pasta with spicy red sauce (the cookbook calls it 'enraged penne' but come on, how many vegans dont have a spicy red sauce recipe?), vegetable risotto, grilled asparagus, sauteed broccoli, etc. Also, many of these recipes are essentially the same recipe with other ingredients. for example there are multiple different gratin recipes that are essentially the same spices and broth with different vegetables. I was also expecting a lot more greek recipes, the cookbook consists mostly italian recipes really. The bottom line is, I think this cookbook is for people either just converting to vegan eating or for people who dont have the time or the inclination to be more creative with their cooking. If you are more a vegan foodie then head towards the millenium cookbooks.
