The box generically has an open check box for damp rated versions, but apparently this fan is not actually damp-rated despite what the description says. When unpacking the fan, there was not the required items for a damp rated fan and the electrician refused to install it on my covered patio as it would be a violation of code. Be aware. The fan I got was not damp rated despite the product advertisement on Amazon.
