WARNING!!!----Possible lead exposure with these cups.
I ordered several sets of these cups too. They are cute and all. I even opened them up and looked at them on one set, had to keep that one because I did not read the WARNING with the big YELLOW TRIANGLE placed under all the cute little daisy prints close to the bottom of the side of the box. I ripped the box up too soon on the first set and did not notice it. But then I saw it on the second set; the YELLOW-Possible lead exposure warning sign related to the use of these products. I felt upset as I read the sign and its fine print. This was clearly not posted on the product details as it should be, since it posted a potential health threat to anyone that is exposed to it. Lead poisoning is no joke. Our bodies do not get rid of it. With each exposure our bodies accumulate higher levels of lead over time. I wished that I would have been informed of this prior to my purchase. Now I have to return them except that one set without the box. Will use that one set either for crafts or goes to the garbage. I am surprised that Amazon offers unsafe products without checking them first for safety. This would clearly not help with selling their products and bad for business. I do appreciate that the Home Basics did post the warning on the box, hence the one star on the review. Cute cups, but not enough to poison myself or my family with them. Thanks but no thanks. Consider other buyers warned and not be shocked when they see that YELLOW LEAD WARNING after the product gets shipped to their homes. A note on the cups being broken on arrival, it was a hit and miss thing for my order. One of the sets that I have received had broken cups inside. Even though there were bubbles wraps outside to cushion the box, I heard something rattle inside the box even before opening it. When I opened it, I saw ceramic chips inside the box. Not sure what to make of that. Anyway, I am shipping them back with their original packaging.
