This has been a nightmare of an experience. We got our Neato in June, and we were really excited because... honestly, who likes vacuuming? Having a robot to do it sounded like a dream, and sounded like it would justify the incredibly high price. For context - We have 1000sf on the ground floor. It’s fairly straightforward, but we purchased this model because of its ability to steer clear of certain areas you specify (like rug with fringe, for example). It was easy to set up, and the app was intuitive. That’s about all the positives I have to say about it. Even with the map, it gets stuck MULTIPLE times a session. Aside from tha, you also have to clean it’s filter out at least once a session because the thing is tiny. We can’t “set it and forget it”, we have to be around the whole time it’s vacuuming to rescue it multiple times. If you have multiple floors, it is useless. If you have stairs, it is useless. Get another vacuum cleaner for that. I wish I had realized this before making the purchase. Why don’t I return it, you ask? WELL. I wish I could. Something important to note - the amazon window for return is ONE MONTH. ONE. For an almost $1k purchase. So if you decide you hate it, you better find out fast before that window closes. So, we’re stuck with ours. Neato customer service is useless. They recommended I clean every small bit of it over and over again, soft reset it, and then hard reset it. When that didn’t work (the base station kept saying it had moved, when it hadn’t), they recommended cleaning everything again and soft and hard resetting it. A week after that method had failed! I mean, seriously? Now they’re recommending I send it for a repair, which means I’ll really be without a vacuum cleaner for however long this process takes. Please do yourself a favor and skip this. It is absolutely not worth it. Even for $100. Get a dyson.
