After receiving this ceramic Christmas tree and the Amazon-suggested replacement tree bulbs, I took the tree for test drive. The result was unexpectedly dismal. The included 7-watt light bulb, which you stuff inside the tree's bottom, is wimpy at best and a number of the lights appeared to be burned out. When I tried to change them, I discovered that they were glued in tight. Frustrated, I consulted with a male friend who knows things beyond my mastery of "righty-righty; lefty-loosey". Here's what I learned. The Christmas tree "lights" are permanently glued into the ceramic tree. They are just hollow, colored, plastic globes through which the 7-watt interior light bulb shines. There is no need to buy a package of replacement lights for this tree! The included 7-watt bulb is a short, stubby chandelier light bulb. My friend did a quick search and found much taller 7-watt chandelier bulbs that I could order. He assured me that the taller variety has a better chance of illuminating all the plastic bulbs on this ceramic Christmas tree, although not too brightly. Naturally you can't order just one tall chandelier bulb -- you must order a package of them. I figure that when all the bulb-dust settles, I'll be into this tree for about $60. Otherwise, this tree is exactly as pictured and very sweet. Eventually I am hoping to love it. With luck this will happen by Christmas time.
