Do NOT purchase a printer that requires a chipped toner cartridge. My old Brother laser printer did not require a toner cartridge that contains a chip. On average I could keep printing for 10 to 14 days after the replace toner message appeared. I could use the cartridge until the printing became very light. This is not the case with Brother's DCPL2550DW printer. After one day of the replace toner message appeared the printer stopped! A high yield OEM cartridge for this rip off machine cost $75. I only paid $130 for the printer. I use laser printers daily in my business. This is my first experience with chipped cartridges. You can save yourself a lot of money by NOT buying printers that require chipped cartridges.
