After 10 minutes with it out of the box, I'm returning it.
There were so many good reviews, I was hopeful. I crossed my fingers. I held my breath. And after 10 minutes with it out of the box, I'm returning it.
I popped in the batteries and got everything set up, put the scale on the flat, smooth, hard surface of my packing table, and turned it on. Immediately, the display counted up and down. I hoped it would settle down, but even after a few minutes, it seemed to go back and forth.
I experimented some with moving the cable around, and that seemed to put the problems into overdrive. I'm guessing that the (minor) battery power fluctuations and/or near/far end "cross talk" in the RJ11 terminated cable between the display and the scale itself is the cause.
For fun, I disconnected the display (while on) and jostled it around to see if the numbers would still fluctuate. They did. EVEN WITHOUT INPUT FROM THE SCALE they STILL wouldn't stay at 0!
Save yourself the trouble.
I've owned several scales (a few with sensitivity at 1/100 of a gram, for "qty by weight" counts on light items) and this is quite the disappointment. Video included for your viewing (dis)pleasure.
