I ordered this because of Lodge quality - their pans are the best. When it arrived, I thought the material was a bit thin compared to my other hot handle holder by Le Creuset. However it does protect my hand from a hot handle. Now, I've used this one maybe 6 times - always on the stove top - since I bought it and now the white residue on the bottom, closest to the hot stove is really bad. This should not degrade from the heat of the stove top, but it does. Very disappointing.
