Dangerous cage for smaller birds. Parakeets and cockatiels and other small to medium size birds need bar spacing of 1/2inch which this cage advertises. After we put it together I noticed there are several bars with spacing greater than 1/2 inch. Some spaces were 1 inch. I didn’t even attempt to put a bird in this cage for fear of it getting it’s head stuck. There was a weird 1” space above the food and water bowls. I probably could have blocked this space off but then I measured other bar spacing and decided this cage is just too dangerous to even try to fix. We also chose it due to the seed guard but there is a space around the guard enough for my fingers to fit through. so the seeds won’t funnel into the cage like they’re meant to. They’ll just fall on to the floor. This seems rather pointless. The edges of the seed guard are not nice and rounded as pictured, they were rather pointy so I could imagine my family hitting their legs off of it. Overall, there was too much potential for my bird to get hurt and I don’t want to take the chance so we will be returning it. Also putting this thing together wasn’t hard but the directions were absolutely terrible! I looked for YouTube directions and found one for a similar cage. That’s when I realized we purchased a cheap, worse version of a nicer cage.
