Hero or Villain? Villain. You've been warned!
Update to original review (below):
WalkHero's refund policy states: "If you are not satisfied with our insoles, please don't leave any negative comment before contact us with your order number via e-mail. We will offer a reasonable and acceptable solution to make it up for you, such as sending you a free replacement or assisting you with a refund."
After contacting WalkHero, describing my issue with their product, and requesting a replacement, they ultimately responded as such: "Dear:
you need to contact Amazon. They will tell you how to do Amazon Customer Service." They were responsive (at least they didn't ignore me), but they clearly don't adhere to their policy. If it wasn't for Amazon customer service, I guess I wouldn't be receiving a refund. By the way, Amazon customer service, via chat (I have copies of all chats as well as messages with seller), initially prompted me to contact the seller for replacement/refund. After I explained to them that I had done so and that the seller informed me I needed to settle this through Amazon, Amazon customer service accommodated me. I'm truly grateful for Amazon's level of service in this matter. (Thank you, Amazon, for not passing the buck the way WalkHero did.) WalkHero's customer service, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. I won't be purchasing anything from them ever again. You've been warned.
Original review:
I want to give these 5 stars, but I'll have to wait and see how WalkHero responds to the issue I'm having with the product (I sent them an email regarding the issue). Depending on their response and level of customer service, I will adjust the rating accordingly.
At the time of this review, I have been using the insoles for about three months and only in my running shoes (a total of about 30 miles/50 kilometers on the insoles). I absolutely noticed an immediate difference during and after my first run. They alleviated the foot pain I experience as a result of high arches and some pronation issues. I no longer needed to roll my feet over a firm ball to soothe those post-run aches, because those aches simply were non-existent. Also, my feet no longer ached throughout the day when I would return to my non-running shoes, even without the insoles inserted (as I said, I only use/d them for running). However, from one day to the next, they stopped working for me: I didn't change my shoes; I didn't change my running habits; I didn't get injured; they simply stopped alleviating my foot pain. Now I'm back to achy feet. I can't explain it. They don't seem to have broken down in any observable capacity, but the pain relief they once provided has vanished.
Perhaps they're defective. I don't know. I'm glad they're very reasonably priced. Even so, I would really appreciate a longer-lasting product. I don't intend on buying a pair every 30 miles. I was really hoping to significantly increase my mileage and thought these were going to provide me with that opportunity. I hope I'm not wrong, because I love running, and I love not having achy feet even more. I would also like to start using them everyday in my non-running shoes, but I'm afraid they'll break down even sooner. I'm really hoping my experience is a fluke, a defect of some sort, and not typical of the product (fingers crossed). Will they ultimately prove to be my Hero, or will they become my Villain?
I'll update this review if and when I hear back from WalkHero. I'm optimistic they will stand behind their product.
