The picture shows a hand imprint firmly embedded in the pillow. The impression is that it is soft and retains its impression. I tried doing that hand imprint right after I got the pillow and no way could I do that with ease. I had to apply a heck of a lot of force and even then could not get that sort of deep impressions. The only thing soft about this pillow is the felt cover. The foam is so stuff that its no different than sitting against a hard car seat. Also, the back is flat, so if you got an office chair with a back that has any sort of curvature in it, its not going to conform to it from its softness upon pressure. It will stay vertical and not give. Definitely though, not for me.
