I received this blender as a Christmas present and on its third use experienced a catastrophic failure - shot a quarter sized piece of ice straight through the (72oz) pitcher wall - as well as half of my blueberry shake over the kitchen wall. I contacted customer Ninja customer support and told them my catastrophic failure and they shipped out a replacement pitcher. When the pitcher arrived it was for a completely different unit model. (by the way I could barely understand her broken English which I'm sure was part of the problem). Two weeks later the I finally received the correct base... within a week of use, I noticed a large crack developing along the bottom of base of the plastic pitcher. Once again I called Customer Service and they said they would the replace the entire unit (base and pitcher) this time but that I would have to pay the $19.95 for the shipping of a reconditioned unit. (read the Warranty carefully). There is obsequiously a (materials design - cheap plastic) flaw with this product ... I've had at least a half dozen blenders in my lifetime and something like this you would think would last at least 5 or 10 years... I've never seen one literally explode. On a side note... I noticed there are factory recalls on several of there models. I'm going to try and get some use out of this reconditioned $20 replacement unit and go back to my Cuisenart blender with the thick tempered glass pitcher. I only wish I had purchased this unit by Amazon... My purchase (as an owner) would have been verified... unfortunately my father purchased this unit on late night TV. Stay away from this product... its cheaply made and has serious design flaws. Hope this helps someone else.
