Huge Disappointment
it wasn't the actor's fault, they were just not given much to work with. The screenplay was awful, the plot illogical, and the reasoning of the scenes was unbelievable. I loved this book. There are many roles that the race of the main character doesn't matter. This isn't one of them. Kelley is the Irish son of an Irish cop. Kelley is an experienced and savvy seaman. The time-frame is post Viet-Nam. Kelley isn't married until later. His skills were much more subtle and he was a lone operative for the most part early on. Too many deviations from the book to enjoy, and if you didn't read the book (you should, it's one of Clancy's best) this film was implausible, disjointed, unrealistic and just plain poor. Following the decent Jack Ryan series Amazon recently produced, i had hoped for better. This was not worth my time.
