Poor quality laces are a minor detail, but mine did shred quickly. Otherwise, a solid pair of boots, as I hoped. ***UPDATE*** Less than six months into owning these boots, not even wearing them every day, the lace hook snapped off on the right side of the left boot, preventing it from lacing up the ankle at all. I have an older pair from hi-tec that I walked the soles out of over a period of years, and the hooks on these are just as strong as when I bought them. The newer boots' hooks are flimsy by comparison, and I was able to bend the piece that broke off in half between finger and thumb.
