I would encourage everyone who may feel forced into purchasing Turbotax Premier 2014 to read the excellent 12/02/2014 review of this product by M in SC. I, too, have been a Turbo Tax user for at least the past ten years and probably longer. What Intuit is doing this year is, in my opinion, a classic bait and switch scheme. Most of us Turbotax Deluxe users have been very well pleased with this product over the years so the bait was out there to purchase the same product again for the 2014 tax season. Ah, but now Intuit pulls the classic switch, by requiring us to purchase the significantly more expensive version, TurboTax Premier, that probably isn't as good as the old Deluxe edition of this software. Intuit must also think we're all dumber than a can worms by offering their "discounted" software on line at a reduced cost but charging another $35 for completing a state tax return. Surely Intuit didn't forget that the state tax return was previously included in the cost of their Deluxe edition. Buyers beware: the various pricing for downloads vs. disc software seems to be purposefully confusing. Shame, shame on Intuit for having disappointed so many long time loyal users. I have found that I can have my taxes completed by a CPA for just a little more than the cost of the 2014 TurboTax Premier software. I, too, join the chorus and encourage all potential buyers of this product to consider other tax preparation software for the 2014 tax year! Let's let Intuit know that none of us were in the movie, Dumb and Dumber.
