This was a nightmare of an assembly and not easy to unpack—I read so many reviews of “quick and easy to assemble” “great value” on and on. I guess every product sends out an occasional lemon and this time it was me who got it. Luckily I’m a former auto mechanic and have lots of tools because I needed them to fabricate and modify the poorly pre-drilled Components. Had to get creative as well—there’s no way to return it bc I had to completely destroy the packaging to get everything out. What should’ve taken 30 minutes took well over 3 hours. I just did all this yesterday and finally got it started today. Be sure to hold in the knob while starting —it won’t start otherwise. I also had to squeeze an electrical connection so if it doesn’t start—check all the wires too. I had a loose one preventing starting. The average person would’ve given up on this particular unit. Hopefully my feelings on this piece will improve as I’m sipping a glass of wine tonight next to it! Beware if you purchase—could be a rough build! Update: So a couple days passed and yes, I do love it and it works well. I do not like the discoloring of the clear rocks though you see in the picutre—maybe I’ll buy new ones. Update: product works well (sometimes hard to light) but overall a decent product once assembled! UPDATE: MAY 2020. UNIT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. IT LIGHTS UP BUT ONCE I RELEASE EITHER KNOB, IT PUFFS OUT. THE PROPANE TANK IS NEW, I PURCHASED A NEW REGULATOR AND LINE, I REPLACED THE VAVLE BEHIND THE IGNITOR AND CLEANED OUT THE REMAINING GAS LINE AND THE METAL TUBE. STILL IT WILL NOT REMAIN LIT. BETTERCHOICE IS OF NOW HELP. THE ONLY GUIDANCE I RECEIVED AFTER CONTACT IS "YOUR UNIT IT OUT OF WARRANTY. DID NOT RESPOND TO QUESTIONS ABOUT PURCHASING REPLACEMENT PARTS OR HOW TO PROCEED. UNIT WAS PURCHASED IN JULY OF 2019 AND USED ABOUT 20 TIMES. DO NOT PURCHASE. NOW I HAVE A $500+ COFFEE TABLE--THANKS FOR NOTHING BESTCHOICE--BESTCHOICE IS NOT THE BEST CHOICE. UPDATE: JUNE 2020. After the above, (angry and dejected) I disassembled all the lines again from the tank to the pit—cleaned them by running water through each one including the tube on the top of the fire pit which is where the flame comes out—my fire pit finally works again. For this much money, I shouldn’t have had do all this —but it’s working again. UGH!
